WHAT IS JR. FAIRBOARD?

We are a non profit division of the Summit County Agricultural Society’s Senior Fairboard.   Our members are between the ages of 13 – 19 years old who are Summit County Residents and in another youth club like 4-H, boy scouts, girl scouts, etc. .

WHAT IS OUR PURPOSE?

The purpose of the society shall be to promote and encourage improvement of agriculture, youth development, improvement in our community,  educational interest in the youth of Summit County to help and promote the Summit County Fair.

WHAT DO WE DO?

Our youth along with adult volunteers plan the shows and events during the annual Summit County Fair for our youth participants.  These  shows include Livestock, Horse, Cats, Dogs, Pocket Pets and Stem Projects.  We also put on free games and events for fair goers during the fair. Some of these events are Pie Eating Contest, Pet Parade, Baby Day, Scavenger Hunts and much more.   We learn business skills by running Dewey’s Milk Shake Shack during the fair and 4-H Horse shows throughout the year.  Our members run our social media platform during the year to promote agriculture and our program.  Our youth members learn through planning and executing these events learn leadership skills, organizational skills, conflict resolution, and learn to work well with others.  These Youth work extremely hard all year round to make a very successful program.
